To help you get access to Polygon, this tutorial will show you how to add a Polygon Network to your MetaMask wallet. Please connect to your MetaMask wallet first before starting the tutorial. Polygon was formerly called Matic Network.
Step 1: Add a Custom RPC
1.1. Enter your MetaMask wallet and click on the network selection bar.
1.2. Choose “Custom RPC” at the bottom.
Step 2: Fill in the Network Information
2.1. Follow the steps and fill in the information. Please see the below screenshot for more details.
Network Name: Matic Network or Polygon
New RPC URL:
https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network
or https://rpc-mainnet.maticvigil.com
or https://rpc-mainnet.matic.quiknode.pro
or https://matic-mainnet.chainstacklabs.com
or https://matic-mainnet-full-rpc.bwarelabs.com
or https://matic-mainnet-archive-rpc.bwarelabs.com
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
Step 3: Confirm the information and save
3.1. If MetaMask warns “Could not fetch chain ID. Is your RPC URL correct?”, please select another “New RPC URL” from the above address list and try again.
3.2. Save the information and you will find the “Polygon ” under “Networks”.
Congratulations! Now you have successfully added Polygon Network to your MetaMask wallet!
